Hi, I'm Elena Olmo
I founded Motherground because I know what it's like to be far from home with a baby.
When my first daughter was born, I was living in Berlin, far from my family and from the support network I'd always imagined having around me in motherhood. Like many international families, I had to learn to navigate an unfamiliar healthcare system, in another language, making important decisions without the trusted people I would have turned to back home. That experience taught me just how valuable it is to feel supported when you need it most.
That's when I decided to go deeper into everything I wished I'd known from the start. I began training in breastfeeding, infant sleep, weaning, and complementary feeding, convinced that families need more than advice — they need clear, evidence-based information adapted to their reality. Over time, Motherground was born: a project designed to offer the kind of warm, professional support I missed so much myself.
My training continues to evolve. I'm currently studying clinical psychology in Germany, driven by a desire to better understand human behaviour and mental health. While my work at Motherground focuses on breastfeeding, infant sleep, and weaning, I believe that a deeper understanding of people allows me to support each family with a broader, more rigorous, and more respectful perspective.
